World Health Organization





  • It is a specialized agency of the United Nations, established on April 7, 1948. The organization is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
  • The main objective of this organization is to 'provide the highest quality of health that can be achieved for the entire population.'


United Nations International Children's Fund. (UNICEF)







  • UNICEF was established on December 11, 1946 as the United Nations International Children's Fund.
  • Its head office is located in New York City, USA.
  • The organization's initial goal was to establish a fund to help children affected by World War II.  In addition, the organization was established for a number of purposes, such as working for the betterment of children in developing countries and the prevention of childhood infections.
  •  At present the organization is active in about 190 countries.


United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. (UNESCO)

 






  • This is known as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
  • The organization was founded on November 16, 1945, and currently has 195 member countries.  It is headquartered in Paris, France.
  • Accordingly, the main objective of this organization is to develop the education, natural sciences, social / anthropological, cultural and communication aspects of the member countries through this organization.


World Trade Organization (WTO)






  • This organization was formed on January 1, 1995 by the World Trade Organization.
  • Its main purpose is to regulate and develop world trade.  Accordingly, trade agreements and disputes regarding trade are carried out here. 
  • The organization has 164 member countries.


OPEC Organization (OPEC)


  • OPEC is an organization formed in 1960 by a group of oil-exporting countries.
  • The organization was established with the aim of stabilizing world oil prices and is headquartered in Vienna.

 

Red Cross Society (ICRC)

 




  • The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) was established in Geneva, Switzerland on February 17, 1863, to protect human life and health.
